The Composites and Advanced Materials Expo (CAMX) is North America's largest gathering of composites and advanced-materials professionals, and this year Composite Automation will be on the show floor supporting the principals we represent. If you're planning a new production line, evaluating automation for an existing process, or scoping a development program, CAMX is the one week where you can see the technology, meet the people behind it, and — with us — connect the pieces into a single, coherent solution.

Why a "Holistic Solution" Matters in Composites Manufacturing
Complex composite structures rarely fail at a single step. They're won or lost across the whole process chain — how material is kitted, how plies are placed, how a preform is consolidated, how the part is cured, and how it's inspected. Buying point solutions from disconnected vendors leaves the integration risk on your shoulders.
Composite Automation exists to remove that risk. Mikrosam — Booth G46
Mikrosam is a global leader in filament winding, automated fiber and tape placement (AFP/ATL), and prepreg production and slitting. With more than three decades of experience and hundreds of production lines installed in 45+ countries, Mikrosam builds engineered-to-order systems for some of the most demanding applications in the industry — including automated production lines for Type 4 and Type 5 hydrogen, CNG, and LPG pressure vessels. Their multi-spindle filament winders, gantry handling systems for large heavy vessels, and modular AFP cells scale from R&D to full serial production. If hydrogen storage, rocket motor cases, or high-rate thermoplastic layup are on your roadmap, Mikrosam's booth is a first stop.
Cevotec — Booth F26
Cevotec's SAMBA Fiber Patch Placement systems automate the production of complex, load-optimized composite parts that are difficult or impossible to make with conventional layup. Fiber Patch Placement excels at 3D geometries, multi-material layups, and — importantly for the hydrogen economy — dome reinforcement for pressure vessels, where selectively adding material reduces overwrap weight and cost versus winding alone. For aerostructures with complex contours or pressure-vessel programs looking to optimize material usage, Cevotec offers a genuinely differentiated approach.
Gunnar — Booth P18
Gunnar builds high-precision automated cutting tables for prepreg, dry fabric, and core materials. Accurate, repeatable cutting is the foundation of an efficient cutting room and a well-fed layup process — and Gunnar's systems integrate cleanly with nesting software and downstream pick-and-place. When we design an integrated cell, Gunnar cutting is often where the material journey begins.
Belotti — Booth G49
Belotti manufactures 3- and 5-axis CNC machining centers used across the composites world for trimming, milling, and finishing composite parts, tooling, and aluminum. Aerospace-grade accuracy, large work envelopes, and configurations suited to composites make Belotti the finishing end of many complete production cells — turning a cured part into a final, dimensioned, saleable component.
Aligned Vision — Booth FF4
Aligned Vision's LASERGUIDE laser projection, LASERVISION inspection, and BUILDGUIDE process-control systems bring accuracy and traceability to composite layup. Their technology guides ply placement, verifies boundaries and fiber orientation, detects foreign objects in real time, and builds an as-built digital record of every part — automated ply verification qualified to replace a second human inspector on flight-critical work. For anyone chasing layup quality, rework reduction, and full traceability, Aligned Vision is a must-see.
Horizon Performance Technologies — Booth BB63
Horizon Performance Technologies provides out-of-autoclave curing ovens and composites curing systems with SCADA-based process control. As the industry moves toward out-of-autoclave processing to cut cost and cycle time without sacrificing quality, Horizon's curing solutions are a key part of a modern, integrated composites line — the step that turns a laid-up preform into a fully cured structure.
NIAR at CAMX — Booth W36
One of the most valuable stops at the show is the National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) at booth W36. NIAR operates Cevotec, Mikrosam, and CEAD equipment on-site — which makes it a unique venue for discussing development projects on existing, installed assets. If you're evaluating a process before committing capital, NIAR lets you validate on real equipment, and we can help facilitate those conversations. Whether it's a filament-winding trial, a fiber patch placement study, or large-format additive development, the ability to prove a process on assets already in place is a powerful way to de-risk a program.
